USI firmly believes that the youth of Rwanda have the ability to serve as peace builders in our communities. We use basketball as a tool to bring youth from all socioeconomic levels together through basketball drills and large and small group discussions, weave our Ubumwe Principles throughout our programming.

“It was not only for basketball; we learnt also how to be proud of ourselves, to have hope of the future, how youth have to participate in decision making and giving our ideas in our societies.”
