Thank you USI for changing basketball in Rubavu

We as coaches working at the Rubavu site take this opportunity to appreciate the way you have been there for us during all of this time we’ve been working together in the program. You  have been so close to us and helped us improve the talent and quality of Rwandan youth in the game of Basketball.
To cut the story short, we have used the USI program in the following ways:

  1. To promote the core values of USI among the youth including: unity, teamwork, building trust, communication, and fair play. All of these have raised the level of awareness among the youth we train, especially in their schools and homes.

  2. Promoting and introducing the game of Basketball in the community.

  3. Developing the children’s talents in the game of basketball which helps them perform well in their studies. With the help of the program some of the kids have been improving their academic achievement at schools so they are allowed to attend school free of charge until they will finish high school.

  4. Collaborating with the parents in strengthening the children’s behaviour, especially during the holidays camps where they do a lot of different activities that keeps them away from bad habits and creates good discipline of unity through the principles.

We can't talk about the importance of this program for the kids without mentioning us- the coaches that have benefited from it a lot including:

  1. Having professional experience in training and educating children and youth.

  2. Being given different training which enabled us to have diverse skills in the game of basketball.

  3. Having fellowship and deep friendship with other coaches working in different sites around the country.

  4. To be provided with the necessary training facilities including equipment (balls, nets, cones, etc.), facilitation fees and bonuses that have helped us in our daily lives.

With all that being said, we would like to thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.
